Interesting that you should post this link at this time...I'm working on a 6 mile trail here in Chicagoland and we're faced with very tight right-of-way at the terminus and so we may have a traffic signal in the middle of a sidewalk that leads to the trail...not ideal and won't be built that way...but that's what the plan shows today. It's all about planning and foresight. Thanks for the post/link.
